BTS, BLACKPINK, Charlie Puth and Jungkook, Adele, and more nominated in newly-announced social categories for 2022 MTV VMAs, here's how to vote

MTV VMAs have announced new categories for this year's ceremony.

Three new categories have been added to the 2022 MTV VMAs – GROUP OF THE YEAR, SONG OF THE SUMMER, and ALBUM OF THE YEAR. The winners of the social categories will be determined by fan votes.

The likes of global pop icons BTS, rock legends Foo Fighters, super duo Silk Sonic, and K-pop queens BLACKPINK are up for GROUP OF THE YEAR. Meanwhile, Beyoncé's dancefloor anthem, 'Break My Soul,' the Charlie Puth and BTS Jungkook collaboration 'Left and Right,' and Doja Cat's contribution to the ELVIS soundtrack, 'Vegas,' are some of the tracks fighting it out for SONG OF THE SUMMER.

Highly-anticipated comeback albums such as Adele's 30 and Harry Styles' Harry's House are contenders for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

Beginning Saturday, August 20 at 12 pm ET (Sunday, August 21 at 12 am SGT), fans can vote for “Group Of The Year” in a bracket-style voting on MTV’s Instagram Story.
