The record that reignited their status as K-pop's biggest trailblazers continues to climb the charts and set new milestones.
Album success
According to recent data from the global music data company Luminate, ARIRANG garnered over 3.8 billion streams across major global platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music in the first eight weeks of its release. The unprecedented receptivity that the album got put BTS' comeback on the map as one of the greatest feats of 2026. The success of the new album bled into the streams of the existing discography as the group's global streams skyrocketed to over 5.3 billion. Beyond the album's success digitally, the album also sold over 810,000 units ranking first in the US market.
The lead single 'SWIM' that captures the heart and soul of ARIRANG, also continues to break new ground as it surpassed over 500 million streams on Spotify. Additionally, every track on the 14-song album amassed more than 100 million streams, with 'Body to Body' and 'Hooligan' each exceeding 200 million, reiterating the album's remarkable success.

Luminate also studied the fandom growth that occurred as a result of the album's overwhelming success. The findings revealed record-high engagement, with engaged consumers reaching 26%, strong affinity fans hitting 15%, and superfans at 9%, each rising by two to five points compared to the previous year. Those who fall under the "Strong Affinity" and "Superfan" categories present a strong attachment to the group actively streaming the album and purchasing physical versions to support their favourites.
Global support
As BTS continues to expand their reach beyond K-pop, they engage new fans and explore new demographics. Luminate states that, "A new group of hip-hop-oriented listeners who do not typically consume K-Pop but enjoy BTS has emerged." It was found that about 7% of consumers were aware of BTS, with 38% identifying as Hispanic or Latino. The findings suggest that BTS continue to expand beyond traditional K-pop audiences and attract listeners from a broader range of musical backgrounds.
