BTS members send off Jin; ARMY send love and support with #SafeFlightOurAstronaut

BTS' Jin is enlisting in the military today (13/12).

Jin, who just turned 30 earlier this month, is the first BTS member to start his mandatory military service, with the rest of the members soon to follow suit at their own scheduled times. On Sunday (11/12), Jin showed off his fresh cut as he got ready for his two-year service which reportedly ends on 12 June 2024. In a Weverse post, BTS' Worldwide Handsome wrote about how his new look was cuter than he thought.

"Now, it's curtain call time," Jin wrote on Weverse ahead of his enlistment today, a reference to the signature move of League of Legends character Jhin whose profile photo he used last April Fools Day.

Last week, BIGHIT Music confirmed Jin's enlistment and asked fans to refrain from coming to the military camp premises and show their love and support from home instead. Jin himself also took to Weverse to ask fans not to come to his enlistment as it can be crowded and dangerous for everyone on site.

The rest of BTS - RM, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – accompanied their eldest Hyung at his enlistment ceremony today.

Meanwhile, ARMY (fans of BTS) took heed and showed their love for Jin from their homes with #SafeFlightOurAstronaut. Messages of gratitude, appreciation, and support overflowed on Twitter, alongside thousands of thoughtfully created fan art, funny memes, sentimental edits, and more.

Last October, Jin dropped 'The Astronaut,' a song he wrote with Coldplay about his journey and finding home in BTS and ARMY. The award-winning artist joined Coldplay at their Music of the Spheres tour in Argentina for the first and final (for now) performance of the critically acclaimed track.

Fans can continue to send their love for Jin via letters on Weverse by using #To_Jin when creating their posts.
