Jungkook's new music is almost here!

You might have seen his captivating teaser posters all over your social media feeds or even your cities for the last couple of weeks but yes, the BTS maknae's highly anticipated solo debut is right around the corner. Jungkook is set to release his first official single 'SEVEN' this 14 July via BIGHIT Music. 

Jungkook has always been a superstar, often dubbed as the golden maknae referring to his many talents, so you can imagine the excitement surrounding 'SEVEN'. While the teasers and everything the singer has quaintly unveiled has led our heads in many directions, not knowing what to expect from his first single, there's no doubt it'll be a hit we'll have on repeat.

As we count down days to 'SEVEN', let's look back at many songs Jungkook has gifted us, from sonic love letters of thanks to powerful reminders to keep dreaming. 


'SEVEN'

Of course, we have to start with 'Seven'. The single is set to be Jungkook's first official release as a soloist and a glimpse into what else the singer has in store. While only a few snippets and alluring teasers have been revealed for now, expectations run high as Jungkook teams up with producer Andrew Watt, who has previously worked with some of pop's biggest stars including Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, and more. 

The music video for 'Seven' is also rumoured to star Korean actress Han Sohee, whose previous projects include titles like Nevertheless and My Name


'Begin'

'Begin' is Jungkook's first solo offering, as part of BTS' 2016 album, Wings. Written by RM, the track retells Jungkook's journey, from a young boy in Busan to a singer performing on a big stage. The track starts with him feeling lost and small as he arrives in Seoul but soon, he finds his footing with his BTS brothers, who has influenced him to go after his dreams. 


'Euphoria'

Undeniably one of Jungkook's most popular solo tracks, 'Euphoria' comes as part of BTS' 2018 record, Love Yourself: Answer and talks about an overwhelming feeling of happiness. It is also the song that features the iconic Jungkook fanchant


'My Time'

'My Time', from BTS' 2020 album, Map Of The Soul: 7, is one of Jungkook's first major forray into songwriting, as he delves deep to recount leaving home as a teenager to follow his dreams. Comparing his life to a fast-paced movie, you hear the singer question his choices and ponder about what he's missing out on if he chose another path. 


'Still With You'

In celebration of BTS' 7th anniversary, Jungkook dropped 'Still With You', a calming track to ease the hearts and souls of ARMY everywhere during turbulent times. Written by the singer himself alongside BIGHIT Music producer PDogg, the track is a reminder to fans that no matter what happens, BTS will always be with ARMY. 


'Left And Right'

Heard everywhere from your local retail stores to TikTok videos, 'Left And Right' is Jungkook's collaboration with American pop act Charlie Puth. It served as the singer's first project of BTS' "chapter 2", where each member focuses on their solo endeavours. The track, which was the perfect summer pop hit, charted on major music charts in Korea and the US. 


'My You'

Jungkook's 'My You' was one of BTS' gifts to ARMY for their 9th anniversary. Sincere and heartfelt, the song served as Jungkook's love letter to ARMY, thanking them for their unrelenting support throughout the years. 


'Stay Alive'

'Stay Alive' is the official soundtrack to HYBE's original story with BTS, 7 Fates: Chakho. Produced by SUGA and performed by Jungkook, the powerful track encapsulates the characters' fire to survive in their vicious world. The track was based entirely on the web story, which follows seven characters who live in an urban fantasy city on a mission to avenge their loved ones. 


'Dreamers'

If you needed anymore proof that Jungkook is glittering pop star, look no further than 'Dreamers'. The track comes as one of the official songs of the FIFA World Cup 2022, which he performed during the opening ceremony in Qatar alongside collaborator Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi. Written and produced by Moroccan hitmaker RedOne, 'Dreamers' is a reminder that you can achieve anything you put your heart and mind to.
