BTS' RM is bringing his passion for visual art to one of the most important modern museums in the world with an exhibition that blurs the lines between personal passion and public presentation. RM x SFMOMA is set to open at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) in October 2026 and will run through February 2027, with member preview running from 1 to 3 October.

For the first time, RM’s carefully curated personal art collection will be displayed alongside selections from SFMOMA’s own holdings, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore modern Korean artworks in conversation with iconic pieces from around the world.

The exhibition will feature approximately 200 works, unified under themes of cultural dialogue, artistic evolution, and cross-boundary exploration. Drawn from RM’s own holdings are works by leading Korean modern and contemporary artists including Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Kwon Okyon, Kim Yun Shin, To Sangbong, and Chang Ucchin. Complementary works from SFMOMA’s collection will include pieces by global artists such as Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Paul Klee.

RM takes an active role as co-curator alongside SFMOMA curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim, shaping how the works are presented so that they speak not just to art lovers, but to anyone curious about the interplay of cultures, histories, and creative perspectives.

In a statement about the project, RM shared that he hopes the exhibition will reflect the many boundaries that shape our world, between East and West, Korea and America, and the modern and contemporary, acting as “a small but sturdy bridge” for visitors to experience art through fresh eyes.

With RM’s global influence behind it, RM x SFMOMA is shaping up to be an unforgettable addition to SFMOMA’s 2026 season, inviting fans and art lovers alike to explore how one artist’s vision can open doors to new ways of seeing.
