"'FRI(END)S' is a track I recorded while searching for something special to offer my fans," V shared in a statement via BIGHIT MUSIC. "It's full of charm, so I truly believe it will be loved by ARMY."
The heart-warming track expresses the desire to "put the 'end' in 'friends'," in hopes of of elevating a longstanding friendship to a deeper level. Its release comes alongside the premiere of the track's music video, which was directed by renowned British photographer and director Samuel Bradley.
"The video depicts V as a conflicted protagonist experiencing love from two different perspectives," Bradley said in a statement.
According to a press release, 'FRI(END)S' was recorded before V released Layover in September last year.
