On December 1, we toast to the legends. That night, the kings, nay, godfathers of Cantopop, Sam Hui and Alan Tam will descend on the Singapore Indoor Stadium to bless a faithful and captive audience with a live showing of their twinned legacies.
Within the teeming sphere of Cantopop, each is a trail-blasting pioneer. In his 26 years at the helm, Ah Tam has written a prodigious 800 songs – his title of “Principal Tam” is beyond-deserved. Sam Hui, reverentially christened, “Elvis Presley of Hong Kong” and “God of Song”, has 23 Cantonese albums to his name – and four English ones. In their example, show-stopping virtuosity and an inspiring work ethic combine.
Their live show will unfold on a four-sided stage and will be stacked to the hilt with hits. This, truly, is not to be missed.
Sam & Tam Happy Together Concert happens on Saturday, December 1 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets, $98-248 are available here.
