CapitaLand meets the metaverse in the second edition of CapitaVerse in Decentraland.
An "out-of-the-world, experiential party," CapitaVerse is happening from 5 to 6 April 2023. For 24 hours, attendees get the opportunity to experience a digital world of music, entertainment, fashion, and arts.
In a press release, Chris Chong, CapitaLand Investment CEO of Retail and Workspace for Singapore and Malaysia said, "The overwhelmingly positive response we received for the first edition of CapitaVerse has strengthened our resolve to be bold and original, pushing the envelope of retail experiences at our malls beyond the physical world as we deepen our engagement with our customers. We are excited to work alongside like-minded partners who are actively experimenting and innovating to create unique experiences."
The Venue
The venue for our Pixel Parties, Decentraland is like a gateway of sorts to the metaverse, a virtual open-world platform. It has a game-like interface that allows users to make their own avatars, roam through digital environments, interact with others, and attend super-cool events. Users can also connect their digital wallets to collect and access their NFTs.
CapitaVerse is made in collaboration with Bandwagon Labs.
"We are proud to collaborate once again with CapitaLand, which is among the frontrunners in championing the next big step for retail in the metaverse. This space is evolving so quickly and the possibilities are endless," Bandwagon Labs founder Clarence Chan said in the same press release. "As frontier technologies become a bigger part of our daily lives, we believe CapitaVerse will usher in a revolutionary phase for retailers to think beyond physical confines to create seamless, unforgettable experiences for customers."
Music and Entertainment
It won't be CapitaVerse if it doesn't feature awesome music and then some—exactly what headliner Annette Lee will deliver on the metaverse main stage. Catch the live performance of the content queen and entertainment extraordinaire on 5 April at 9:15 PM SGT and again on 6 April at 1:00 PM SGT. Expect some original songs, some covers of hit songs, and some fits and giggles with special appearances from Lee's online personas, Chantelle and Aunty Susan.
Zouk's DJ Ghetto, DJ Che' Molly, DJ Hong, and DJ Jeremy Boon will also be performing on 5 April at 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 10:00 PM, and 11:00 PM respectively.

Fashion and Arts
In CapitaVerse, fashion remains on point both in the digital space and irl. Around 3,000 visitors (or while stocks last) get a chance to sport CapitaVerse-exclusive "Up In The Clouds" Aura Wearable NFT Collection, which features "whimsical clouds with glistening stars floating around the avatar so you can accent your individuality while showing off your personal sense of style."
There's also a treat to those who attended the first CapitaVerse in June last year: an additional "Glide Through the Clouds" Emote NFT which attendees can use to explore the digital space from great heights.

Aside from these, visitors also get the opportunity to view the SS23 collections in the galleries of Charles & Keith, FILA, and Urban Revivo, as well as art by Choy Wen Yang and Thomas Yeo in the National Gallery Singapore's Virtual Museum.

As mentioned on their website, treasure in the form of real-world prizes are hidden in CapitaVerse. Those who join the hourly virtual hunts get the chance to win prizes worth SGD 120,000, including one-year Insider Memberships to the National Gallery Singapore, tickets to Jewel Changi Airport Canopy Park, Somersby cocktail sets, and more.

The event starts at 7:00 PM SGT but CapitaStar members get VIP early access at 5:00 PM SGT on 5 April. Members get more exclusive privileges via a special code which they can get by spending a minimum of SGD 100 at any participating CapitaLand malls from 24 March to 4 April 2023.
