Singer-songwriter CECILIA has released her new song, an uptempo disco city pop tune called 'Don’t Go Dancing'.
Following her sparkly solo debut single 'Merry-Go-Round', released in September of 2024 with a vintage music video, this marks CECILIA’s second release this year. Both song were produced by seyertam (Matt Reyes).
'Don’t Go Dancing' echoes the 1980s Japanese city pop sound and aesthetic established in CECILIA’s debut single, with added inspiration from the disco genre. Telling the story of a nightclub singer watching her love dance with another girl, the song speaks about the jealousy felt in an unrequited love.
CECILIA first rose to prominence as a finalist at the 2018 Those Days These Songs singing contest on Fairchild TV, before winning second place runner up at the 2021 Canadian Chinese Songwriters Quest hosted by Fairchild Radio.

She was also in all-Asian girl punk rock band FETTISH. Currently, she regularly performs with the Toronto-based city pop band Next Perfect Day, playing Japanese and Korean city pop tunes
