CLC's Kwon Eunbin announces retirement from entertainment industry

CLC member and actress Kwon Eunbin has announced her retirement from the entertainment industry after a decade in the spotlight.

On 16 June, the singer-actress shared a heartfelt statement on social media, revealing that she has decided to step away from celebrity life following years of reflection about her future.

"After long deliberation, I have decided to live a life as a non-celebrity," Eunbin wrote. Reflecting on her career, she shared that she had often struggled with feelings of emptiness and anxiety, adding that she now wants to pursue "a better and happier future."

The artist also thanked fans for their unwavering support throughout her journey, which began in her teenage years. "I was happy in every moment thanks to the undeserved love and support from fans," she said.

Eunbin revealed that she will conclude all entertainment activities after completing CLC's previously scheduled overseas group commitments.

Her final appearance as an entertainer is set to take place at CLC 11th Anniversary Concert: After All, happening on 19 July at Zepp New Taipei in Taiwan. The concert will feature fellow members Oh Seung-hee, Jang Seung-yeon, Jang Ye-eun, Elkie, Son, alongside Kwon Eunbin, while Choi Yu-jin will not be participating.

First gaining public attention through Mnet's Produce 101 in 2016, Eunbin later joined CLC and became known for balancing both music and acting. Over the years, she appeared in dramas including Bad Papa, Dear.M, At a Distance, Spring is Green, and Youth of May.

Earlier this year, Eunbin concluded her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment.

In her closing message to fans, she expressed gratitude for their support and wished everyone happiness as she begins a new chapter beyond the entertainment industry.
