There's no summary that can do justice to the sheer excitement that comes with every Clockenflap edition.
The Hong Kong music festival always puts up a top-tier line-up that literally offers something for everyone. It's no surprise, then, that families with small children are present every year. In 2017, the festival celebrated its 10th anniversary with a selection of acts that featured established veterans (Massive Attack, The Prodigy) to the young, fresh blood (Slaves, Wednesday Campanella).
Placing these acts in a linear spectrum doesn't do them justice — the festival prides itself on sheer music discovery, after all, prestige artist status or not. But, like every festival, it's impossible to catch every act over an entire weekend. We caught just a sliver of the line-up, but they were truly awesome — from the hip-hop hijinks of Higher Brothers to the salt-of-the-earth greatness of Feist.
