Most of all, John Cleese is a funny man. Dubbed "the world's funniest man", his affection for, and finesse in Black Comedy has made him one of the notable stand-up comedians for fans who love his tongue-in-cheek humor.

John Cleese is returning to Singapore and Bangkok in 2022 with his brand new stand-up show Why There Is No Hope. Giving a teaser of his show to come, he shares:

"What I'm really saying is there is no hope that we will ever live in a really fair, kind, intelligent, sensible society. It isn't going to happen. There are always too many people — the technical name for them is assholes — most of them are men. There are too many who want to be brilliant and powerful. It doesn't mean that we can't have very nice, happy fulfilling lives within those societies."

Audiences can expect an eventful show, as John Cleese shows no qualms  dishing out brutally honest jokes.

"The great thing about the tours that I do now, is that most of the people are around 40-50 years — there are young people — but when I look out there at the audience, there are [people aged] 40, 50, 60, 70, and none of them have any concerns or sympathy for the politically correct society so I get no problems at all."

An intimate evening of part talk and part stand-up comedy with a Q&A session to conclude the night, the show is the comedy legend's second in Singapore since 2014, and his first in Bangkok.
