Known best for their mischievous charm and refreshing take on K-pop, CORTIS is back with their single 'REDRED' that's set to be featured on the tracklist of their upcoming EP GREENGREEN.
With a colourful concept that's almost reminiscent of a traffic light, these trailblazers are definitely revving their engines, raring to go as they tease the EP with the electronic dance style of the track. Centered around charting your own path and owning each step of the journey, the song focuses on staying true to yourself and your beliefs in a world where following the trend has become one of the defining factors of your worth.
At the core of the track is the idea that caring what other people think is 'REDRED' and taking a risk and defying the norm is "Green". With lyrics such as, "Playing it safe (That's red, red)" and "Hopping the wall, that's green green" the quintet captures the contrast between following the rules and making your own rules.

The concept behind the track was first created by group member JAMES who grew attached to the idea of directly calling out people who stay tied to validation. As the ragtag group aims to shatter all the expectations set for them as they continue to top the charts, stepping into a new era on their own terms.
'REDRED' is directly inspired by retro aerobics music and high-energy Eurodance, house, and techno from the 90s, creating a unique tone for the track that captures the raw and gritty authenticity that the group radiates. With the rugged synthesizer melody on repeat, the track is definitely incredibly catchy as it pairs perfectly with the anthemic lyrics.
The accompanying music video is a unique concept. Without any choreographed dance number being a usual K-pop music video trademark, they go against the grain once more, setting their own trends. Directed by IDIOTS and CORTIS, the music video follows them as they have fun in a hole in the wall Korean barbeque restaurant and even go shopping in a thrift store. The unpolished style of each background contributes to that grounded, down-to-earth vibe the song is rooted in. With the quick paced almost game-style editing, the video captures how they throw all caution to the wind and just wreak havoc on each other as a group of cheeky misfits.
As we count down toward the release of GREENGREEN, the release of 'REDRED' really gives fans peak behind the curtain at the new era of CORTIS that this record brings as their favourites experiment with genres and styles to perfectly depict their playful and energetic charm. With their upcoming Lollapalooza debut on 1 August, CORTIS is set to unleash that mischievous energy onstage as 2026 shapes up to be an exciting year for the quintet.
