Since his previous release in 2018, WHO IS THE SKY? the album was released some seven years after that release, marking a spectacular comeback like never before, with his show in Singapore set to reignite fans' love for the musical icon's music. Ahead of his performance in Singapore, David Byrne is also set to perform in Tokyo on 15 August and Osaka on 16 August as part of the dazzling Summer Sonic 2026 festival lineup. With such a packed year, don't miss the chance to relive his landmark career live in Singapore.

WHO IS THE SKY? remains a milestone moment in Byrne's career as it shows off not only his unmistakable and unique style that radiates positivity through the unique musical arrangements that coat each track with a carefree vibe, but infused with the musical sensibilities of some of music's most talented names such as St. Vincent, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, The Smile's drummer Tom Skinner and American Utopia percussionist Mauro Refosco.

David Byrne summarises the joy that WHO IS THE SKY? exudes as he shares, "Someone I know said, ‘David, you use the word “everybody” a lot.’ I suppose I do that to give an anthropological view of life in New York as we know it,” says Byrne. “Everybody lives, dies, laughs, cries, sleeps and stares at the ceiling. Everybody’s wearing everybody else’s shoes, which not everybody does, but I have done. I tried to sing about these things that could be seen as negative in a way balanced by an uplifting feeling from the groove and the melody, especially at the end, when St. Vincent and I are doing a lot of hollering and singing together. Music can do that – hold opposites simultaneously. I realised that when singing with Robyn earlier this year. Her songs are often sad, but the music is joyous.”

As his eclectic musicality has defined his discography for decades now, he continues making music that has the power to uplift people, tackling everyday experiences through intuitive lyricism and layered production to create something that's truly one of a kind. With such an infectious happiness to his music and an interesting concept for the show featuring 13 other performers, his live performance in Singapore is definitely not one to be missed.
