JYP Entertainment confirms Jae Park's departure from DAY6

DAY6's Jae is welcoming 2022 with an announcement.

On 1 January 2022, the singer-songwriter and guitarist revealed that he will no longer be joining DAY6 activities moving forward. He took the time to thank MyDays (fans of DAY6) for the love, support, and happy memories throughout the last six years. The 'mom cut fruit' singer also assured fans that they will "meet again."

In a separate statement from JYP Entertainment shared via DAY6's official Twitter account, the agency confirmed Jae's departure from the group and the termination of his JYP Entertainment contract effective 31 December 2021.

Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

First of all, we sincerely apologize for causing concern with sudden news to My Day, who shows much support for DAY6.

Jae, who has been a member of DAY6 until now, left the team as of December 31, 2021, and his contract was terminated. We exchanged deep conversations with Jae for a long time, and following careful discussion, we decided to respect the artist’s opinion and conclude our exclusive contract

Although our relationship with Jae has come to an end, JYP Entertainment will also cheer on Jae’s future activities with his new start.

We promise to continue full support and efforts for DAY6’s activities, and we ask for continuous love and support from My Day.

Thank you.
