December Avenue and Morissette have finally dropped their long-awaited collab, and it’s every bit the heart-hitting anthem fans hoped for. Released 9 May, ‘Ahon’ brings together the band’s signature hugot lyricism and Morissette’s soaring vocal power into a stirring tale of love, loss, and rediscovery.
The track dives deep into the ache of a love that’s never truly gone — just waiting to resurface. “It’s about a love that never left, just hidden beneath the surface,” shared frontman Zel Bautista, pointing to the raw line “Handa na ang puso kong malunod na sa piling mo" which roughly translates to "My heart is ready to drown in your presence."

Crafted with care and emotion, the band says working with Morissette was seamless. “There’s clarity but also a storm underneath,” said Bautista, describing how her range elevated the song’s emotional arc.
Guitarist Jem Manuel recalls being blown away the first time he heard her live. “Her voice was way more powerful than I expected,” while drummer Jet Danao added, “Pag Mori ang usapan, finish na.”
With its theme of emotional resilience, ‘Ahon’ is more than a love song — it’s an anthem for anyone who's ever tried to rise again.
