Fans of hazy guitars and emotionally charged shoaze are in for a treat — DIIV are finally making their return to Singapore after nearly a decade.

Presented by Symmetry Entertainment, the show will take place on 13 July at *SCAPE Ground Theatre. The Brooklyn outfit last performed in the Lion City nine years ago, and this upcoming show sees the band arriving with a deeper catalogue, a sharpened sound, and the weight of four records behind them.

Best known for helping usher dream-pop and shoegaze back into the indie spotlight over the past decade, the band’s latest chapter comes in the form of Frog in Boiling Water — their fourth studio album and perhaps their most introspective release yet.

The record was created over an intense four-year period that pushed the band creatively and personally. Working closely with acclaimed producer Chris Coady, known for his work with Beach House and Blonde Redhead, DIIV spent months refining the album’s direction while navigating questions about identity, endurance, and evolution as a band.

The result is a sprawling, immersive body of work that expands beyond the heavy textures of 2019’s Deceiver, offering a more nuanced and emotionally layered sound. According to the band, Frog in Boiling Water reflects “doing your best to carry on in spite of oft-grim prospects” — themes that have resonated deeply with listeners since the album’s release.

Singapore fans can expect an evening filled with shimmering guitars, towering walls of distortion, and the kind of cathartic live energy DIIV have become beloved for.
