Marvel StudiosMs Marvel comes to Disney+ and is slated for its drop on 8th June

On the night of 15 March, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) were treated to the release of the enticing new series trailer. Led by newcomer Iman Vellani, the show stars Rish Shah (To All The Boys: Always and Forever), Zenobia Shroff (The Big Sick, Soul) as well as Aramis Knight, who previously made a short appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 too.

Ms Marvel features Kamala Khan, a seemingly simple Muslim-American teenager growing up in New Jersey, whose hobbies include gaming and penning fan fiction of The Avengers. As a superfan of superheroes, Kamala struggles with her growing social expectations to fit into the norm, in school and at home until she gains superpowers herself which swings her life out of balance.

The series’ trailer showcases a fine mix of action-packed superhero moments and plenty of heartwarming representation of Kamala’s traditional beliefs as a Muslim.

Ms Marvel follows the recent release of Shang Chi and The Ten Rings as well as The Eternals in the renowned studio’s efforts to bringing more diversity to screens.
