Indian rap icon DIVINE has unveiled his fifth studio album, Walking on Water, a 16-track deep dive into his 10-year reign over desi hip-hop.

The album is a genre-spanning celebration of everything that’s defined DIVINE’s journey — gritty street realism, spiritual conviction, bold experimentation, and the unmatched swagger that’s made him a household name. Released via Gully Gang, Walking on Water features a powerhouse lineup including Hanumankind, Gurinder Gill, Riar Saab, MC Altaf, Sammohit, and Kalyani Priyadarshan, with production credits from ZZORAWAR, Stunnah Beatz, and Phenom.

Paying homage to Indian cinema’s musical legacy, DIVINE samples iconic Bollywood tracks like A.R. Rahman’s ‘Kehna Hi Kya’ (Bombay), R.D. Burman’s ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ (Sholay), and ‘Give Me Some Sunshine’ (3 Idiots), blending nostalgia with his hard-hitting, globally attuned sound.

“This album is a declaration of evolution, dominance, reflection and spiritual grounding—celebrating everything I’ve built and everything I’ve survived,” says DIVINE. “It’s for the streets. For the culture. For the believers. And for those who doubted.”

Highlights from the album include:

  • ‘Walking on Water (Intro)’ – A cinematic opener staking his claim as Indian hip-hop’s architect.

  • ‘Boom’ – A trap-laced homage to Rahman’s classic, where luxury and hustle collide.

  • ‘Late Knights’ feat. Gurinder Gill – A haunting look at loyalty and betrayal.

  • ‘You & I’ feat. Kalyani Priyadarshan – A flirty Afro-pop take on ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’.

  • ‘Rain’ – Sampling ‘Give Me Some Sunshine’, DIVINE gets introspective about sacrifice and survival.

From raw street cuts to Afro-pop grooves and Bollywood flips, Walking on Water cements DIVINE’s status as not just India’s top hip-hop export, but a cultural force reshaping the global soundscape.
