Direct, straight-for-the-heart songs don't need to be saddled with unwieldy conceptual baggage. That's why Dru Chen's supremely funked-out love letter of a song 'When I Look Into Your Eyes', receives a music video treatment that is likewise subtle and effective.
In the clip, directed by famed Singaporean producer Leonard Soosay, Chen fronts a band staffed by replicas of himself in the respective roles of singer-guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and drummer. Occasionally, the action cuts to standalone shots of him dressed in the most gloriously colourful clothes and crooning right into the camera.
