DRUM TAO are set to return to Singapore this June with Beyond THE BEST. The Japanese performing arts heavyweights will hold four shows at the Esplanade Theatre from 12 to 14 June.

Marking the group’s return to Singapore after two years, the upcoming run also coincides with DRUM TAO’s 33rd anniversary. Presented as their “most ambitious production to date”, Beyond THE BEST is described as a fully reimagined spectacle that combines ancient Japanese taiko drumming with acrobatics, martial arts choreography, and dramatic stagecraft.
The show promises a sensory-driven experience rooted in cinematic lighting, traditional Japanese-inspired costumes, and high-intensity choreography as the rhythm reverberates throughout the venue. The highly skilled performers deliver the production’s signature taiko sequences through “full-body athleticism”, creating what the organisers describe as an experience that “transcends the boundaries of what a live performance can be.”
Over the past three decades, the group has expanded globally, performing for over 10 million people across more than 15 countries. Their productions have appeared at venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Sydney Opera House, London’s West End, and concert halls across Japan, Australia, Europe, and North America.
The production’s Singapore stop will also feature a limited VIP experience priced at S$228, which includes premium Category 1 seating, a Q&A session with lead performers, a Hi-Bye meet-and-greet, a photo opportunity, and an exclusive goodie bag.
