Dua Lipa’s highly anticipated Radical Optimism tour will not go ahead as planned in Jakarta. The British popstar was scheduled to perform today (Saturday, 9 November) at the Indonesia Arena, but the concert has unfortunately been canceled due to safety and logistical issues.

Dua Lipa expressed her disappointment over the cancellation on her Instagram Story.

“I’m heartbroken to share that I won’t be able to perform in Jakarta this Saturday. I am here in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging," she states. "“I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta."

Organizers TEM Presents and PK Entertainment explained that the decision to cancel was tough but neccessary.

"Despite Dua Lipa’s readiness to perform and the whole team’s diligent efforts to resolve critical production issues related to the stage structure provided by Mata Elang Productions, it is not safe for the performance to carry on. This very difficult decision to cancel was made with the utmost care and consideration for the safety of both the audiences and artist."

The promoters have also apologized and assured ticket holders that full refunds would be processed. Refund requests will be accepted from 11-30 November, and ticket holders can expect to receive a refund request form via the email used for their purchase. Click here for further details.
