Chinese mega popstar Eason Chan drops surprise music video for 'Don't Mind Me' featuring Tony Leung – watch

Eason Chan has extended his partnership with Universal Music Greater China (UMGC), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG).

The announcement follows the release of the Chinese mega popstar's latest album, CHIN UP!, his first full-length release in five years. Chan continues his over 19-year working relationship with the label with the renewal.

CHIN UP! features eight new tracks, composed by Terence Lam, and arranged by award-winning producer Ronghao Li and Terence Lam. In the new album, Chan shares: "wishes to invigorate those going through life’s ups and downs, offering encouragement and resilience to face the future with optimism." The lead single, 'Home Sapiens,' was recently awarded Song of the Year at the inaugural Wave Music Awards hosted by Tencent Music Group, and also won Best Lyrics at the 34th Golden Melody Awards.

Fans and the media were treated to a special surprise at the press conference, with the global premiere for the movie version of the music video for 'Don't Mind Me'. Award-winning international film icon Tony Leung also makes a cameo in the music video. 

Talking about the new album and contract renewal, Eason Chan said: “Four years in the making, this album truly reflects the journey of my mind in the past isolated few years. My deepest appreciation and admiration to this album's co-producers Terence Lam and Ronghao Li, who also made spectacular arrangements for these lovely tunes. And to my dear friend, a true legend, Mr. Tony Leung, for taking part in the latest music video of "Don't Mind Me". Reflecting upon the cherished moments over the past 19 years with Universal Music Group, emotions well up. It has been an unforgettable voyage, and I am profoundly grateful for every step we have taken together. As we move forward, I am pretty excited for more remarkable memories yet to be created. We shall continue to push boundaries and like always, keep the CHIN UP!”.
