ENHYPEN are heading to the Winter Olympics — and not just through song. SUNGHOON, member of the global K-pop sensation, will serve as a torchbearer for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, kicking off 6 February. The idol was invited by Samsung Electronics, an official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, to take part in the historic torch relay.
Before making his K-pop debut, SUNGHOON trained as a competitive figure skater and was a reserve athlete for South Korea’s national team. Now, he bridges his past and present as both an Olympian-at-heart and artist on the world stage.
"I'm sincerely honoured," SUNGHOON shared. "The Olympics was once my dream as an athlete, so being connected to it now as a singer means the world to me. I want to support and cheer on our national athletes with all my heart."
His appearance marks him as only the second K-pop act to ever join an overseas Olympic torch relay, underscoring his growing global influence and K-pop’s continued rise in international arenas.
The Olympic spotlight doesn’t stop there — ENHYPEN’s empowering anthem ‘SHOUT OUT’, from their 3rd Mini Album MANIFESTO : DAY 1, has been selected as Team Korea’s official cheer song for the Winter Games.
Fresh off the success of their latest EP, THE SIN : VANISH, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with over 122,000 units sold, ENHYPEN continue to prove they’re not just artists — they’re icons shaping the global sound and spirit.
