Asia, get ready—Eurovision is officially going global.
The iconic competition will launch its first-ever Asian edition, with the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia set to take place in Bangkok on 14 November.
For nearly seven decades, the Eurovision Song Contest has been a cultural mainstay—spotlighting diverse music and launching global stars like ABBA, Måneskin, and Conchita Wurst.
Now, in celebration of its 70th anniversary, organisers are bringing the competition to Asia for the very first time. The move signals a major expansion of Eurovision’s global footprint, introducing a new platform for artists across the region to showcase their sound, identity, and storytelling.

Much like its European counterpart, the Asian edition will feature:
- National selection shows in participating countries
- Original songs representing each nation
- Live performances leading up to the grand final
- A voting system where countries vote for one another to determine the winner
The format aims to highlight the diversity of Asia’s music scene, from pop and rock to regional and emerging genres.
So far, broadcasters from 10 countries have confirmed their participation, including:
- Bangladesh (NTV)
- Bhutan (BBS)
- Cambodia (TV5 Cambodia)
- Laos (VTE9)
- Malaysia (Media Prima / TV3)
- Nepal (Himalaya TV)
- The Philippines (ABS-CBN)
- South Korea (ENA)
- Thailand (Channel 3)
- Vietnam (VTV3)
More countries are expected to join in the coming months, signalling strong regional interest in the competition.
The choice of Bangkok as host city reflects its reputation as a cultural and entertainment hub in Southeast Asia. Officials have highlighted the city’s vibrant music scene and its long-standing role as a meeting point for diverse cultures—making it a fitting stage for Eurovision’s Asian debut.
The competition is being organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Voxovation, in partnership with S2O Productions.
