The Kings are back. EXO have officially returned with REVERXE, their eighth studio album and their first full-length release in over two-and-a-half years.

Leading the charge is ‘Crown’, a heavy-hitting dance anthem packed with Atlanta trap drums, metal guitar riffs, and EDM synths — a genre-blurring comeback track that puts EXO’s signature dramatic vocals front and centre. The lyrics crown a loved one as something sacred, precious, and worth protecting, making for an emotional centrepiece in this era’s storyline.

Having debuted in 2012 with an iconic, lore-rich sci-fi concept, EXO have built one of K-pop’s most enduring musical universes. On REVERXE, the group reinterprets the word “reverse” — marking the start of a new era and an opening of a new world.

Ahead of the album drop, the group teased fans with two contrasting pre-release tracks: the heart-wrenching winter ballad ‘I’m Home’, first performed at their fan meeting concert, and the bass-heavy ‘Back It Up’, premiered at the 2025 Melon Music Awards.

'Crown' is just the beginning. The album wastes no time launching into a high-energy sequence of genre-defying tracks.

  • ‘Back It Up’ flexes beat switches and booming 808s

  • ‘Crazy’ throws in Brazilian funk on a shifting electronic beat

  • ‘Suffocate’ delivers sultry house vibes under moody vocals

  • ‘Moonlight Shadows’ drips cinematic romance under the moon

  • ‘Back Pocket’ dives into midtempo R&B with a funky groove

  • ‘Touch & Go’ likens love to tumbling dominoes

  • ‘Flatline’ rocks out with pop-rock energy

  • And ‘I’m Home’ returns to close the album on a soft, emotional note
