Fête de la Musique returns this June, here's everything you need to know

Tara Allez! Fête de la Musique is back in the real world. 

Get ready for France's musical gift to the world as Alliance Française de Manille, the Embassy of France to the Philippines, and B Side Productions bring Fête de la Musique back to the Philippines this June. The multi-stage music festival will be mounted all across Metro Manila on 23-25 June, Palawan on 26 & 28 June, Baguio on 26 June, Cebu on 25-26 June, and Siargao on 21 June.

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Franco-Phil bilateral relations, Fête PH 2022 will feature a mix of Filipino and French artists across various stages.

Zild, Cheats, Lola Amour, Anima Tierra, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas featuring Curtismith, Toni B., Faye Yupano & Zsaris, and more on the main stage in Puerta Real Gardens, Intramuros on 25 June.

30 independently produced pocket stages in Metro Manila will also be mounted on 24 June with performances by the likes of Basically Saturday Night, Johnny Alegre, Ean Mayor of UDD, Coffeebreak Island with Bing Austria & Tuesday Vargas, Tropical Depression, Apartel, Mulan, and Samantha Nicole, and many more.

French singer-songwriter and pianist Marc Fichel will appear the Sofitel stage on 23 June, the Intramuros main stage on 25 June with The Voice Teens winner Cydel Gabutero, and in El Nido on 26 June.

DJ Blutch will also be joining Fichel at Sofitel and Intramuros, before heading to Cebu on 26 June.

Dancer and choreographer Maxime Cozic is set to perform an 18-minute solo piece with embodiment artist Dona Tumacder-Esteban and drum circle Bathala Na at the final Fête PH 2022 stage in Kalye Artisano in Lio Estate on 28 June

Each stage will have its own Fête-stivities: Lokal Lab at the Siargao Stage in the Santa Fe Beachfront Playground on 21 June, Kayle Artisano x Lio Estate at the El Nido Stage in Kalye Artisano on 26 and 28 June, Melt Records x Alliance Francaise de Cebu at the Cebu Stage in Draft Punk on 25 June and La Vie on 26 June.

"We’re excited to bring the Fête de la Musique celebrations back to the beautiful places of the Philippines," says Xavier Leroux, Executive Director of Alliance Francaise de Manille. "This year’s festivities will find us rediscovering the joys of live and in-person music once again."

Fête de la Musique is also in partnership with the Department of Tourism. "Now that the Philippines is open to fully-vaccinated individuals from all over the world, there’s no better time than now to explore our islands, and immerse in our vibrant arts, music, and culture," DOT Assistant Secretary for Branding and Marketing Communications Howard Uyking says in a statement.
