Filipino alt indie collective Dilaw cut through the silence with their single 'Black N' White' — watch

'Black N White', showcases Dilaw's distinct writing style that includes unconventional lyrics laced with satire. The track follows the narrative of a glum and melancholy world slowly transforming into a vibrant one full of hope and happiness, only to find that it was all a mirage dreamt up while dozing off on a road trip—providing a bittersweet commentary on how momentary flashes and dreams can inject a world of colour and radiance into our lives.

The music video hits the nail on the head—directed by Raliug, it shows the members of Dilaw playing the song at various locations, with colour gradually seeping into the scenes, shifting from black and white at the start, to a bright and colourful finale. The visuals perfectly capture the story behind the song, seamlessly translating it into a feast for the eyes.

Dilaw has also announced their upcoming debut 10-track album RARARA that is a fun twist on the Filipino word "tara" that means "let’s go"—reinforcing the exciting nature of the album. RARARA will be out on 5 September featuring 'Black N White' on the tracklist.
