GENIC release fourth album ‘if’ ahead of Nippon Budokan debut – listen

ayJapanese dance and vocal pop group GENIC have released their fourth album if on Wednesday, 5 February, bringing fans into a “what if” world through their signature blend of pop & cool music. The album features 14 tracks, including two drama theme songs and two commercial tie-ins, along with three hours of video content. Their music videos also explore alternate realities, with 'FUN! FUN! FUN!' set on a vibrant miracle island and 'IT’S SHOWTIME' reimagining the group as a 1990s J-pop act.

Beyond music, GENIC’s seven members—Atsuki Mashiko, Joe Nishizawa, Kakeru Amemiya, Maiki Nishimoto, Maria Kaneya, Ryuki Koike, and Yurari Ui—have expanded into acting, writing, and modeling. Mashiko recently portrayed Haku in the London stage adaptation of Spirited Away, while Koike has composed for other artists. Their growing influence extends beyond Japan, drawing a global fanbase.

Following their nationwide GENIC LIVE TOUR 2024 -if-, the group will make their highly anticipated debut at Nippon Budokan on 5 November. As they continue pushing artistic boundaries, GENIC remain a dynamic force in J-pop, captivating audiences with their fresh take on performance and entertainment.
