Gentle Bones is back.

On 10 February, the Singaporean singer-songwriter, whose real name is Joel Tan, returned to the music scene with 'The Right Words'.

Following the 'Elusive' act's recent signing with Warner Music Asia, the new single marks his debut music release as part of the regional label's roster.

The artist's latest pop tune is an expression of vulnerability as he enters a new era of his music career, working with Warner Music Asia to forge deeper connections with his audience and grow his presence and fan base outside of Singapore.

On writing 'The Right Words', Gentle Bones shared: “The journey of an artist is not an easy one sometimes as on one hand, we appreciate and expect ourselves to return the love that fans have given us, for without them, we wouldn't be in this position. But on the other, we understand that the depth of our own personal journeys in what touched the fans in the first place."

He added: "Given the great privilege of being a fairly established artist for many years and attempting to always bring forth a new perspective to myself and the audiences, I believed it was time to be honest about my own journey of being an artiste, career wise, rather than threading the line of pop culture only. This song started from the raw thought that perhaps I should bring my troubles of facing writer's block to the surface.”

'The Right Words' is a pre-released single from Gentle Bones' upcoming four-track EP scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.
