Calling all SONEs (Girls Generation fans)! Girls Generation is coming into the new world. 

On May 17, SM Entertainment finally confirmed that the second generation girl group will be dropping a new album this August, in celebration of their 15th anniversary as one of Korea’s most notable acts. 

After only the contract renewals of 5 members in 2017, the legendary eight-piece had remained otherwise dormant in group activities, with individual members venturing into solo activities that included modelling, acting, and solo music. 

However, since the start of 2022, the ladies of the chart-topping hit ‘Gee’ had been hinting at the possibility of a group comeback on their social media, including ‘INVU’ star, Taeyeon teasing fans on her Instagram live.

The highly-anticipated comeback would be the K-pop icons’ first in five years, following their fastest-selling Korean-language album, Holiday Night.
