Golden Globes 2020 Music Highlights: Rocketman and Joker win awards

Earlier today, the 2020 Golden Globe Awards were held in Beverly Hills, California. Amongst the categories were two main music ones: Best Original Song — Motion Picture and Best Original Score – Motion Picture. 

Rocketman won the for category of Best Original Song — Motion Picture with '(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again', written by Elton John and Taron Egerton. Other nominees in the category include Cats' 'Beautiful Ghosts', Frozen 2's 'Into the Unknown', The Lion King's 'Spirit' and Harriet's 'Stand Up'

Joker clinched the award for Best Original Score — Motion Picture. Other nominees in the category include Motherless Brooklyn, Little Women, 1917 and Marriage Story. With the win, Joker's composer Hildur Guðnadóttir became the first woman to do so as a solo composer in the history of the Golden Globes. Apart from her score work—which also includes composing music for HBO’s Chernobyl—Guðnadóttir contributed to SUNN O)))’s 2019 records Life Metal and Pyroclasts.
