House of the Dragon Season 2 now has a clearer release window.
On 5 March (Tuesday), Warner Bros. Discovery streaming and gaming chief J.B. Perrette confirmed that the second season of House of the Dragon is set to premiere in June 2024 on HBO. The reveal was made during an interview at Morgan Stanley's Technology, Media and Telecom conference.
House of the Dragon Season 2 picks up from the from the story of George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, which tells the story of the Targaryens long before Game of Thrones.
In December, Martin shared in a blog post that he'd seen the first two episodes of House of the Dragon Season 2, saying they are "very dark."
"Of course, I am hardly objective when talking about anything based on my own work… but I have to say, I thought both episodes were just great. (And they are not even finished yet)," Martin wrote in his post. "Dark, mind you. Very dark. They may make you cry. (I did not cry myself, but one of my friends did). Powerful, emotional, gut-wrenching, heart rending. Just the sort of thing I like."
