HYBE INDIA is widening its search for the next generation of Indian pop talent, with Rashmika Mandanna joining the company’s latest audition campaign.
The Indian film star has partnered with HYBE INDIA for HYBE INDIA Audition: Final Call, the second phase of its nationwide search for female talent to form a new global girl group.
The campaign, which launched on 2 September, follows an initial audition round that received applications from across India and the Indian diaspora in 116 countries. For its latest phase, HYBE INDIA is expanding the search to eight additional cities across the country.
In a special campaign video, Mandanna reflected on her own career and encouraged aspiring performers to take a chance on the opportunity.
“Every journey begins with an opportunity and the courage to take that first step,” said Mandanna. “When I look back at my own journey, I know how much it takes to keep believing in yourself, working hard and saying yes to possibilities.”
Calling the audition a “first-of-its-kind opportunity in India,” she added: “I hope every girl who has a dream gives herself the chance to take that first step.”
HYBE INDIA CEO Damien Woochang Lee said the response to the first phase highlighted the “depth of talent and ambition across India,” with the expanded search aimed at finding artists who can represent the country internationally.
