HYBE shares continuous growth plans in letter to shareholders – pre-filmed content, multi-label structure, Weverse Live, Superton, BTS Island: In The SEOM, and more

Following the announcement about BTS' military service plans, HYBE sent a letter to shareholders today containing continuous growth plans. The letter talks about how the company will "continue to seek boundless expansion of the music industry through leveraging innovative technology and perfecting its multi-label structure."

HYBE CEO Park Jiwon stated, "We have always been aware of the eventuality of mandatory military service, and we have long been making preparations to be ready for this moment. In the short term, individual activities for several of the members are planned into the first half of 2023, and we have secured content in advance, which will enable BTS to continue their engagement with fans for the foreseeable future."

"We are forging ahead with new projects such as platforms and games that can leverage new technologies bringing experiences to fans which, to date, have yet to be realized in the entertainment industry," he added.

At the forefront is perfecting HYBE's multi-label structure. At the moment, the company has nine labels, including BIGHIT MUSIC, BELIFT LAB, SOURCE MUSIC, PLEDIS Entertainment, KOZ ENTERTAINMENT, ADOR, HYBE LABELS JAPAN, and HYBE AMERICA (that also manages its affiliate labels such as Big Machine Label Group). These labels are able to cultivate a bigger number of globally renowned acts, such as SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, Zicofromis_9, Justin Bieber, Arianna Grande, and more. Four new teams from Korea, Japan, and the U.S. will also reportedly debut in 2023.

HYBE has also ventured into technology through the launch of Weverse Live, securing its ability to broadcast concerts and other large-scale music events. They now plan to take their innovation of real-time video communication between fans and artists to the next level through a subscription-based service in 2023. This service will set a new trend in fan-artist engagement on a global scale, with artists from Japan and the U.S. entering WeVerse.

The announcement also discusses the successful launch and inevitable expansion of BTS Island: In the SEOM, solidifying HYBE's hold in the gaming industry. It is also expected that Superton, a recent addition to the company's portfolio, will "establish itself as a major player in the technology field, introducing contents and services for fans in a new manner."

HYBE CEO Park Ji Won also assured shareholders: "Change” has always served as a driving force to create better results for the past 17 years at HYBE. We have continuously grown building on that change. As always, we will not rest on our achievements. We will not compromise on mediocrity. And we will create the future of HYBE by marching forward without hesitation. Of course, travelling on a path untrodden will inevitably lead to some trials and errors. However, HYBE is ready to leap forward with amazing plans for our next great step forward, and we are ready to put those plans into action. Please allow me to once again express my deep appreciation to our investors who have, and will continue to, cheer for HYBE along this journey."

In an announcement made today (17/10) via Weverse, BTS confirmed their plans of enlisting in the military as part of their national service requirements. As this is mandatory in Korea, the global entertainment lifestyle platform has long been prepared with a strategic corporate plan for continuous growth, with the aim of providing "extensive experience to fans who love its artists and music" in mind.
