ILLIT are kicking off a fearless new era with the release of their first single album NOT CUTE ANYMORE, shedding their adorable image for something bolder and more defined.
The project is headlined by the reggae-pop title track ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE’, a cheeky, self-aware anthem where the girls candidly break up with their past image. From minimalist production to conversational vocals and a catchy-as-ever chorus (“I’m not cute anymore”), the track is a confident step forward for the group.
Behind the scenes, the single brings together an A-list production team including Jasper Harris (Jack Harlow’s ‘First Class’, Montero by Lil Nas X), alongside singer-songwriters Sasha Alex Sloan and Youra, layering personal flair with genre-bending polish.
B-side ‘NOT ME’ is no less fun. Produced by Pebbles&TamTam (of ‘PINK LIKE SUKI’ fame), the track channels a playful, headstrong energy — with ILLIT’s own YUNAH, MINJU, and MOKA adding a personal twist to the lyrics.
The visuals? Pure chaos in the best way. In the 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' music video, ILLIT hold a funeral for cuteness — literally — with a pink tombstone that reads “CUTE IS DEAD.” Expect kitschy costumes, pink monsters, sports car chases, and stone-faced dance breaks that flip the script on everything you expect from a “girl group” MV.
Even while pushing against the “cute” label, ILLIT can’t help but let it slip out in moments — making their transformation all the more charming. With sharp choreography, bold visuals, and self-written lyrics, the group proves they’re not here to fit into boxes — they’re here to break them.
