Interstellar enlists Macro Records owner and Berghain stalwart Stefan Goldmann to launch new night

Techno-friendly events promoters Interstellar have had a pretty banner year so far, buoyed by a string of successful parties featuring talents such as Marco Shuttle and Heiko Laux on their decks.

Never ones to rest on their laurels though, the cutting-edge electronic music collective will be launching a sister night called Sonic this November - and it'll be a little more house-centric than their usual fare.

Its launch will be held on 12 November within familiar CATO confines and its set to be headlined by none other than Macro Records bossman and Berghain stalwart Stefan Goldmann!

Renowned for outstanding records such as 'The Maze', 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'Lunatic Fringe', Goldmann is known as a vanguard within his own productions and as a label owner. In fact, Macro Records, which he runs with Finn Johannsen, has been called “the leading avant-garde techno label.”

Listen to his latest mix entitled Macrospective II here, exclusively featuring Macro Records music.

His considerable clout has seen him branch out into art projects as well, with commissioned works and one-off performances "ranging from intimate solo encounters at iconic venues such as Kyoto’s Honen-in Temple to large-scale compositions for music theatre, film, ensembles and dance."

Amazingly enough, he does all this in between his jam-packed tour schedule, regularly headlining clubs and festivals all over the world from Berlin and London to Paris and Vienna. And of course, Goldmann is also famed as the founder of Berghain's Elektroakustischer Salon nights within Panorama Bar.

As the co-scribe of Berghain’s 2015 book, Art In The Club, alongside his writing on his own book Presets - which investigates automation and industry aesthetics in digital music production - Goldmann is also distinguished as a published author and authority on the overlapping boundaries between art, science and music.

But even though he has thrived in his multi-faceted career, Goldmann is still most at home behind the decks, and lucky for us, we'll get to experience him at his creative best next week!

The illustrious producer-DJ will also be supported by Midnight Shift's Haan and Imaginary Unit's Russell L. Meanwhile, the event will also feature a second secret room called the Groovy Galaxy featuring UK's finest in Whirlin Merlin and Huntersson alongside Interstellar's own Cabbit! Entry is free before 11pm with a subsequent cover charge $20 after, inclusive of one drink.
