ITZY are tying up with Pokémon for something special next month.

In celebration of the action-meets-RPG title Pokémon Legends: Arceus and its release, Nintendo announced that it has teamed up with the 'LOCO' K-Pop quintet for a series of videos.

The collaboration includes a new commercial, making-of video, and a TikTok clip, which will drop on 9 February (Wednesday), promoting Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon UNITE, and Pokémon Card Game. ITZY's hit single 'WANNABE' was chosen as the official tie-up song.

"I was happy to hear that I could work with Pokémon, which is known by many people and which I have loved since I was a child," Yeji says in a statement.

"I'm very happy to be working on Pokémon," Chaeryeong adds. "I've been watching it since I was a kid, so I feel nostalgic and honoured at the same time!"

Yuna says, "I'm really happy that we decided to tie up with Pokémon. Please give me much anticipation and love for the future with my very, very favorite Pokémon and their friends~!"

Lia, whose favourite Pokémon is Eevee, recalls, "When I was a kid, I would always watch Pokémon in front of the TV every morning. It was my routine for the day!"

"When I was playing games as a child, my parents got angry with me because I was playing too much for fun," Ryujin shares her memories of Pokémon.

UPDATE (09/02): The Pokémon Company unveiled ITZY's official TV ad for Pokémon Legends: Arceus on YouTube. The 30-second clip sees Ryujin attempting to catch a Pikachu, but Yeji startles her. Ryujin misses, but tries again with the support of the group.

"It was a great honor and a strange feeling to be a model for a Pokémon commercial, which I've loved since I was a child," Ryujin confesses.

Two quick clips of ITZY's Yeji and Lia were also posted on Pokémon's official TikTok page to promote the #PokemonLegendsChallenge campaign, where users can take commemorative photos with Pokémon against the backdrop of the magnificent nature of the Hisui Region.
