Tokyo-based J-pop group timelesz has officially announced their new members at a press conference held at the Universal Music Japan offices, following the final episode of hit Netflix Original docuseries timelesz project -AUDITION-.
Previously known as Sexy Zone and consisting of Fuma Kikuchi, So Matsushima and Shori Sato, the group changed their name to timelesz (pronounced “timeless”) last April, and simultaneously announced a new nationwide member recruitment program in partnership with Netflix. The series premiered worldwide in September 2024 and concluded in Japan on 15 February 2025, with the last (18th) episode revealing the five new faces of timelesz: Takuto Teranishi, Yoshitaka Hara, Masaki Hashimoto, Shuto Inomata, and Taiki Shinozuka.

At the press conference, Fuma Kikuchi excitedly noted “From now we call ourselves "family", and our family name is timelesz,” further emphasizing the importance of having fun for the group to keep thriving for many years to come and sharing his dream of holding a dome tour at some point.
A total of 18,922 applications joined the first round of auditions, and among them approximately 350 were selected to move to the second stage, narrowed to 36 in the third and 15 for the fourth, at which point additional talent already affiliated with STARTO ENTERTAINMENT threw their hats into the ring. The final round with eight remaining candidates took place on 5 February.

Their first song as an eight-member group, 'Rock this Party', has also been confirmed for global release on all major streaming platforms 28 February. Along with the new single, the Digital Compilation Hello! We’re timelesz featuring 12 hit songs previously released by the group as Sexy Zone will also be made available, including the Netflix documentary theme song 'Anthem'.
