Japan's Oricon has revealed the top artists in sales for 2021.

BTS are officially the year's best-selling artist. Contributing to their total sales of JPY 18.48 billion are sales from their singles, albums, DVDs, and streaming data.* The feat makes the Korean superstars the first-ever foreign act to top the year-end artist charts, after making history by topping the year-end albums chart with their Japanese compilation album BTS, THE BEST, 37 years after Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Sales and streaming numbers from their recent releases such as BTS, THE BEST and their GRAMMY-nominated singles 'Dynamite' and 'Butter' contributed to their chart-topping numbers.

In a message, BTS extended their thanks to ARMY (fans of BTS) for their never-ending love and support.

J-pop group Snow Man reign supreme among the Japanese acts with JPY 11.49 billion in total sales.* Their first full album Snow Man S1, SNOW MAN ASIA TOUR DVD, and 'Grandeur' single helped make their way to second place.

Five-piece King & Prince are the third best-selling artist of the year with JYP 6.77 billion in total sales.* Sales from their third album, Re:Sense, 'I Promise' single, as well as King & Prince CONCERT TOUR 2020 DVD, boosted their sales for 2021.

ARASHI, who recently went into an indefinite hiatus, has over JPY 6.72 billion in total sales.* Leading their sales numbers are their most recent album THIS IS ARASHI and DVD of Arafes 2020 at National Stadium. 

Rounding up the top 10 are SixTONES, Nogizaka46, YOASOBI, Official Hige Dandism, Kis-My-Ft2, and B'z.
