Japanese rock band Tricot have just released their new single ‘ エンドロールに間に合うように (End roll)’ off their latest album Jodeki

‘End Roll’ serves as the opening theme for the Japanese TV series liar which is based on a story that was first posted to an amateur fiction site before being adapted into a manga.

Tricot frontwoman Ikkyu Nakajima penned the lyrics especially for the series, recounting a love that is unrequited yet tantalizing.

Nakajima said: “I was gripped by the relationship between Misao and Ichi and the frustration and thrill of their on-off romance, and I wrote the lyrics from a woman’s perspective. I named the song ‘エンドロールに間に合うように(End roll)’ to echo my hope that these two lovers will become one by the time the credits roll at the end of the series. I hope the power of music will help this wonderful story to resonate even longer in your heart!”

Bursting with kinetic energy, the track certainly features the pounding beat you’d expect from Tricot who are known for their distinctive sound which consists of harmonic pop melodies and emotional vocals with complex rhythms.
