Four-member K-pop boy group LNGSHOT signed under MORE VISION, a record label that was founded by Jay Park in 2022, made a surprise music performance at Hanyang University Festival last night.
LNGSHOT shared Jay Park's signature explosive and infectious energy as they joined him on stage during his charismatic performance. The quartet upped the ante during their debut performance as they performed an unreleased track that gave the audience a taste of what was to come from LNGSHOT.
After the show, Jay Park took to his social media announcing the group and introducing the four members, Ohyul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louis in a post captioned, "Haha, I don’t know if they’ll sell the most, but I’m confident they’ll do K-pop in the coolest, most fun way.” The slides pictured the four members showing off the almost rebellious and unapologetic nature as they tackle K-pop in a fresh way, breaking the mold.

Jay Park muses about LNGSHOT, explaining their overall unconventional nature and the importance behind challenging the concept of normal and acceptable, as he explains, "People kept trying to put their standards and limits on me. Growing up in the States, it was ‘What’s an Asian doing in hip-hop?’ When I came to Korea, it became ‘What’s an idol doing in hip-hop?’ Then later, ‘You’re a celebrity, how can you be tatted up and still show up on TV?’ or ‘What if your business fails?’ I broke through those stereotypes and carved out my own lane — the Jay Park way.”
He also adds, "Now, 17 years later, I’ve been grinding, proving myself, and thankfully earning respect. That made me realize this mindset, this attitude, needs to be passed down. That’s why I started building idols. Because there has to be a new generation to carry the culture and keep the spirit alive. The name LNGSHOT means the odds might be slim, but you take the risk anyway. That’s the spirit behind it.”
LNGSHOT makes one thing clear: they’re here to make a statement and create a fresh new wave in K-pop with their carefree nature—carving out their own uncharted path.
