Celebrate the UNESCO International Jazz Day 2022 with the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO).
Marking JASSO’s return to the live stage in two years as a full band, the association is gearing up for a memorable comeback concert this 30 April at 8 PM SGT as it celebrates jazz music and its integral role in uniting the world.
“As we re-emerge from the pandemic as a complete big band orchestra, we hope to continue our work to uplift the arts community in Singapore and also the rest of the world through our programmes and performances.” says the executive director and music director of JASS, Jeremy Monteiro.
Together with his associate music director Weixiang Tan, Monteiro has joined forces with the likes of veteran jazz vocalist Alemay Fernandez and budding young performer Sneha Menon for a show to remember at Capitol Theatre.
Tickets for the 30 April (8 PM SGT) concert are now open for purchase via BookMyShow for SGD 20 and SGD 30.
In addition, the concert would act doubly as a scholarship presentation ceremony for the recipients of this year's JASS Scholarship, including multi-talented saxophonist Sean Hong Wei and aspiring music educator Nakano Kenji.
Weixiang encourages a season of forging forward armed with the power of music during the current flux of the world. “Music will always be a constant form of solace for many.” he muses, “We hope to put a smile and create a feeling of hope for everyone who attends or tunes in to our concert.”
