Jolianne is in full kilig mode on her newest track ‘Kuryente’, a dreamy pop-soul collab with Korean-Filipino producer Ziv, co-written with none other than Miguel Benjamin of Ben&Ben.
Released via Sony Music Entertainment, the sparkling new single bottles the electricity of infatuation and the thrills of young love, inspired by Miguel’s real-life love story with his wife — a tender tale of feeling literal jolts of static whenever their hands meet.
“There’s a blend of ease and tension that I always want to include in my productions,” shares Ziv, who carefully fused Korean R&B sensibilities with a sunny Filipino pop groove.
Jolianne, meanwhile, channels the wide-eyed wonder of a teleserye heroine, weaving playfulness, vulnerability, and technical finesse into her Tagalog vocal performance. “This was one of the more challenging songs I’ve put out,” says the ‘Plain Girl’ artist. “It pushed me to access my voice in a different way.”
Backed by Ziv’s intricate and soulful production, ‘Kuryente’ thrums with charisma and charm — a heartfelt homage to the spark that starts it all.
