KANA-BOON are blasting into anime territory again with their explosive new track, ‘SUPERNOVA’, now the official opening theme for the second cour of Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, which began airing on 10 July.
Known for their dynamic rock sound and iconic anime themes (Naruto Shippuden’s ‘Silhouette’, My Hero Academia’s ‘Starmarker’), KANA-BOON have amassed over 500 million streams and views globally. ‘SUPERNOVA’ continues that legacy with a fierce, forward-driving track made to match Dr.STONE’s ever-escalating sci-fi action.
“We’re truly honored to perform the opening theme for Dr.STONE! Thanks to this opportunity, we’ve created a powerful track!” KANA-BOON shared. “It’s a solid and aggressive song that perfectly matches the intensifying battles of Senku and his friends.”
The music video sees the band embody the spirit of scientific discovery, performing amidst a whirlwind of historical and futuristic imagery. CG animation and collage-style visuals animate the theme of imagination as humanity's ultimate superpower.
“This is a fantastic piece born from incredible imagination. In the end, we go full SUPERNOVA mode, so be sure to watch it all the way through!” they added.
The anime’s current arc follows Senku’s audacious “Moon Landing Project” as he and the Kingdom of Science journey through the Americas and Amazon in a race to uncover the truth behind the Medusa device and the mystery of Why-Man.
Fans can also enjoy the creditless opening and ending sequences released after the anime broadcast. Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE is directed by Shuhei Matsushita with animation by TMS Entertainment. The ending theme is 'no man’s world' by otoha.
