Coming-of-age K-drama 'Rookie Cops' starring Kang Daniel and Chae SooBin set to make its debut on Disney+

The coming-of-age K-drama of the season is set to premiere on Disney+.

Earlier in the month, Disney+ launched new Asia Pacific content on the platform, including the premiere of the highly anticipated Korean drama, Rookie Cops, set to debut later on Disney+ on 26 January. 

The campus romance drama follows the lives of a group of aspiring cops in the Korean National Police Academy. Focusing on the newly-enrolled students, the drama uncovers the grueling daily training and strictly enforced rules in the academy as the freshmen fight to qualify for graduation and achieve their dreams. Revolving around the righteous and high-achieving Wi Seunghyun and the energetic and decisive Ko Eunkang, the story follows these polar opposites as they continually butt heads and find romance along the way to their ambitions.

Directed by Kim Byung-soo, who worked on hit dramas He Is PsychometricThe Bride of Habaek, and Ninedrama fans can get ready for a suspenseful ride in this coming drama. Kang Daniel will be making his acting debut in the drama as the main lead Wi Seunghyun, alongside Chae SooBin as Ko Eunkang. Stepping into the roles of the young freshmen are Lee Sin Young, Park You Na, Park Seong Jun, Min Do Hee, Kim Woo Seok, and Cheon Young Min. The stellar cast also includes veteran actors Sohn Changmin, Lee Munsik, Seo Yi sook, Jeong Young ju, and Jea Su weon. 

Following the debut of Rookie Cops, Disney+ will also be premiering new Asian content such as Anita (Director’s Cut), King of Savvy, Taiwan Crime Stories, and A Lifelong Journey as a part of The Walt Disney Company’s APAC Content Showcase, where it unveiled 28 new APAC titles and ambitious plans to greenlight over 50 APAC Originals by 2023.
