KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza is set to reunite with the group in the first week of January 2027, following a hiatus to focus on her mental health and well-being.
According to a statement from HYBE and Geffen Records, Sophia will sit out the group’s North American tour and remaining promotional activities this year as she continues to prioritise her recovery.
“Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources,” the labels shared. “While Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in North America, or promotional activities for the remainder of this year, we look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027.”

In a personal message on Instagram Stories, Sophia thanked fans for their “patience, grace and understanding”, sharing that she has been receiving care and learning how to better support herself.
“Your kindness during this time has given me more strength than you know,” she wrote.
The singer also addressed missing the remaining tour dates, explaining that she would use the time to continue training and prepare for her return.
“As much as I wish I could simply push through, I’ve come to understand that sometimes having the courage to take a step back is what allows you to move forward,” she shared.

“My hope is to return feeling happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded, and ready to give you everything I’ve been wanting to give you. I’m holding onto that so tightly. I can’t wait to share the stage with my sisters again and look out to all of you!”
Sophia first announced her hiatus in August. Her planned return will see her resume activities with the global girl group, whose members also include Manon Bannerman, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung.
