Spotlighting outstanding music and achievements from some of the industry's biggest names is what the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 is all about. But no celebration is complete without the electrifying energy of live music, and this year's lineup of performers is set to keep the crowd on their feet. With an exciting roster of artists taking the stage, the second edition of the awards promises to be an unforgettable and iconic spectacle.

With a mix of J-pop heavyweights, K-pop legends and western trailblazers creating an all star lineup of performers, the ceremony is shaping up to be packed with explosive energy and live renditions of hit tracks.

Kicking off the bill are some of J-pop’s fiery frontrunners, with the reverberating rhythms of Kenshi Yonezu alongside the groovy, genre-blending sounds of Fujii Kaze and the power-packed energy of rising girl group HANA. Representing K-pop on the regional stage is MISAMO, the sub unit from legendary girl group TWICE comprising members Momo, Sana, and Mina.

Pledging to champion music regardless of language or borders, Sam Smith is set to bring his award winning melodies and bold expressive performance to the stage. The lineup also features CHANMINA, globally acclaimed rock band sakanaction, shoegaze-influenced duo Hitsujibungaku, and veteran live favourites Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, who will be joined by special guests AiNA THE END, TAKUMA of 10-FEET, and LiSA.

With more performers set to be announced before the Grand Ceremony on 13 June, keep your eyes peeled for information on the official MAJ website
