Kenshi Yonezu is kicking off Japan's FIFA World Cup season with new music.
The Japanese superstar released his latest single, 'Karasu – Raven', the official 2026 NHK Soccer Theme. Written for the FIFA World Cup campaign, the track arrived on the same day as Japan's opening match against the Netherlands and features cover artwork illustrated by Yonezu himself.
The release follows the massive success of 'IRIS OUT', his theme song for CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC, which broke multiple streaming records in Japan and became one of the highest-charting Japanese-language songs globally.
To mark the arrival of 'Karasu – Raven', Yonezu also shared a live performance video of 'IRIS OUT' from MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026. The artist emerged as one of the ceremony's biggest winners, taking home six awards including Best J-Pop Song and Best Digital Culture Artist.
The new release adds another milestone to an already historic run for Yonezu. In recent years, the singer-songwriter has become a global ambassador for Japanese-language music, with hits such as 'Lemon' and 'KICK BACK' reaching record-breaking commercial success. In 2025, he also completed his biggest world tour to date, performing for more than 440,000 fans across Asia, Europe, and North America.FIFA World Cup 2026, MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026,
