Taiwan-born and Canberra-based singer-songwriter Kim Yang 楊予菁 has dropped her soul-soothing new single ‘All Good When I’m With You’ — out via Symphonic — and it’s as comforting as a sunrise hug.
A celebration of connection and creative joy, ‘All Good When I’m With You’ blends bubbly ukulele, bold piano lines, and cinematic strings, topped off with Kim’s featherlight vocals. It’s indie-folk with a dose of sunshine — a heartfelt reminder of music’s power to heal.
Produced by Louis Montgomery (SAFIA, Peking Duk), the track also weaves in a unique cultural touch: the sound of a guzheng, recorded in Melbourne on a borrowed instrument. The accompanying music video, directed by Seán O’Gorman, was filmed in a cozy home setting, capturing moments of gentle creativity and sincerity.
"We kept the shoot grounded and natural, leaning into genuine moments of creativity and connection," O’Gorman shares.
Known for her candid lyricism and intimate stage presence, Kim continues to build on her growing folk legacy, shaped by her multicultural journey and performances at Woodford Folk Festival (Australia), Cambridge Folk Festival (UK), and Jade Music Fest (Taiwan and Canada).
